A groundbreaking workshop is set to launch a new Climate-Smart Livelihood Program in Tigray, funded by the Embassy of Ireland in Ethiopia. The initiative aims to address the pressing challenges of climate change and food insecurity in the region.

A Collaborative Effort This ambitious program is the result of a collaborative effort between four key partners:

  • Tigray Agricultural Research Institute (TARI)
  • Ethiopian Catholic Church Social and Development Commission Adigrat Branch (ECC-SDCOAdB)

Addressing Climate Change and Food Insecurity The program will focus on:

  • Climate-Smart Agriculture: Implementing practices that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build resilience to climate change.
  • Improved Livelihoods: Empowering smallholder farmers, particularly women, youth, and vulnerable groups.
  • Enhanced Food Security: Increasing agricultural productivity and ensuring year-round food availability.
  • Capacity Building: Training farmers and other stakeholders in climate-smart techniques and sustainable practices.

A Brighter Future for Tigray By working together, these partners aim to create a more sustainable and resilient future for the people of Tigray. The program will leverage the combined expertise and resources of the consortium to deliver tangible benefits to communities in need.
